Getting to the station

From Vancouver Airport (YVR): With an Uber, Lyft, or taxi, you can reach our station in 5-15 minutes, depending on traffic. If you prefer to travel by public transport, the Public Sky Train (Canada Line) will take you to the “Marine Drive Station”. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk to our location.

BATTERY POWER: Please note that while roadsurfer RVs come with solar panels, the batteries are not equipped to last for prolonged periods without connecting to shore power.

TRAVELING IN WINTER: Please note that all our motorhomes in Canada undergo “hibernation” during the winter months (from November to March). This involves emptying or filling all boilers and pipes with antifreeze, including the camper’s water tanks. Consequently, water usage in the vehicles, such as from the fresh water tap, shower, or toilet, is unavailable during this period. To prevent vehicle damage, kindly ensure the water tank remains empty throughout your journey. Regrettably, any damage resulting from failure to comply will incur charges.

How to book your one-way rental with roadsurfer

During the booking process, you have the flexibility to select your desired return location for bookings within Canada. If you rent your RV or camper van at our station in Vancouver, you have the option to return it to the station in Calgary or you can book a roundtrip and return it in Vancouver.

How much is the one-way rental fee?

A $449 one-time will be fee applied during the booking process.

Our roadsurfer camper vans and Class C RVs are equipped with everything you may need or want on your road trip. Enjoy a seamless driving experience with built-in navigation, relax and unwind on a big and comfortable bed, and make use of a fully stocked kitchen box that includes a pot and pan, tableware, glasses, utensils, mugs, and a French press for your coffee, allowing you to prepare your favorite meals. Additionally, we provide an outdoor table and camping chairs so you can enjoy your time outside. The only thing you need to bring is a comforter or sleeping bag and your sense of adventure. You can also reserve a comforter when you book your camper van from Vancouver, along with many other items that you can find on our equipment list.

Important visa information

Please make sure you have the necessary visa before you start your adventure to avoid any travel delays. The following guide applies to all U.S. and Canadian citizens:

  • U.S. and Canadian residents are required to show proof of USA / CAN citizenship (Passport or NEXUS Card) when crossing the U.S. / Canadian border. For U.S. citizens, no visa is required to enter Canada for stays up to 180 days.

Best time of year to visit Vancouver

Wondering when is the best time to book an RV rental in Vancouver? We recommend visiting between June and September when you’ll have the best chance of dry weather and plenty of events to choose from. However, if you prefer snow sports or cooler temperatures, then consider booking in winter, spring or fall. As for what’s on in Vancouver throughout the year, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival (June/July), Celebration of Light (July) fireworks competition and the Vancouver Pride Parade (August) are three must-see summer events.

Filling and emptying water tanks in Vancouver

You’ll need to fill up the freshwater tank at the beginning of your trip, and empty your grey water at the end. This can be done at most campsites. You can also google “RV Sani dump” to view the closest station to you. Please note while traveling in winter (from November through March) water usage in the vehicles, such as from the fresh water tap, shower, or toilet, is unavailable during this period. To prevent vehicle damage, kindly ensure the water tank remains empty throughout your journey.

Parking in Vancouver

When it comes to parking your RV or camper van rental in Vancouver, finding a space downtown can be challenging. Consider parking at Stanley Park, an accessible location, and explore the city on foot. This option not only eases the parking dilemma but also adds a pleasant walk to your trip. If you’d prefer a parking garage, however, there are a few options – just be sure to check for height restrictions before entering.
