Camping Equipment Included

When you rent a motorhome in Los Angeles, you can hit the road right away knowing your roadsurfer home on wheels is fully stocked. Your camper van includes a camping table and two chairs for outdoor enjoyment. The Kitchen Box helps you save on dining out – with pots, pans, utensils, a corkscrew, bottle opener, and cafetière for your morning coffee or tea all included. Just remember to bring dish towels, sponges, and eco-friendly dish soap. You’ll also need to bring your own bedding or rent it from the station. For full details on what’s included and suggestions for your Los Angeles RV rental, check the equipment list.

Visa & Travel Requirements

American citizens don’t need to worry about a visa. However, the following guide applies to all AU, UK and EU citizens (including those from Ireland, Norway, Switzerland, and Croatia):

  • If you’re not from the USA, you’ll require a US visa or an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation).
  • If you begin your trip in the USA and travel to Canada, having a USA visa or ESTA is sufficient. You don’t need a Canadian visa to enter the country by land.

Best Time to Visit Los Angeles

You can enjoy a visit to Los Angeles year-round as the weather stays relatively comfortable. The summers can get quite hot, especially when camping away from the Pacific coast, so take that time for a relaxing couples beachside getaway or a more adrenaline-fueled surfing adventure with a close friend. Because of the extreme inland summer heat, roadsurfer camper van and Class C RV rentals are prohibited from visiting Death Valley except during the winter. Winters in LA are never really cold, but mountains like the stunning Sierra Nevadas, home to Yosemite National Park, can get much colder so plan your road trip accordingly. Spring and Autumn are the best times of year for a visit as the temperatures are comfortable, and the national parks are less crowded. If you plan on a longer road trip to other states, make sure to check their current requirements, like snow chains, which are not provided.

Water Tank Info

When setting off on your journey, locating water fill-up stations for your camper van within the city of Los Angeles can be challenging. Once you are beyond the city limit, it will be much easier finding such stations. When returning your camper van or Class C RV rental, you must empty your black and grey water. The nearest service station is a short 15-minute drive away, where you can dispose of your grey water tank. Please note that this station has limited operating hours, typically open for only 2-3 hours per day.

  • Hyperion Dump Station, 7660 West Imperial Highway, Playa Del Rey, CA 90293

Due to the limited operating hours, we recommend staying at a campground that provides those facilities before finishing your road trip.

Nearby Gas Stations

Pease ensure the fuel tank is topped up shortly before returning your RV rental. Depending on the camper model, petrol or diesel and DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) are required. Please check in advance which fuel your camper requires. Failure to return the tanks full may result in a service fee. DEF is available at most Walmart and Target locations. These are the closest gas stations near our location:

  • Shell Gas Station, 4755 W. Imperial Hwy, Inglewood
  • ARCO Gas Station, 11402 Hawthorne Blvd, Hawthorne

RV Parking in Los Angeles

There is street parking available, but with regular street sweeping on Mondays and Tuesdays, it’s not the best option and not the safest. If you are looking to park your vehicle while you are on your roadsurfer adventure, you can find many long-term parking options at the Los Angeles International Airport, which is just a 15-minute taxi or ride-sharing car ride from our Los Angeles station.
