How does the RV pick-up process work with roadsurfer?
1. Complete Your Online Check-in (Available from 7 Days Before Pick-Up)
Before your trip, log into your roadsurfer customer account to complete your Online Check-in. This includes:
- Watch the camper tutorial to get to know your RV inside and out.
- Enter the details of all drivers who will be operating the vehicle.
- Review your pick-up station’s details like address, opening hours, and parking in your account dashboard.
2. Activate Your Pick-up Pass
Once you arrive at your pick-up station, you’ll need to activate your Pick-up Pass before the handover can begin. You can do this by:
- Scanning the QR code on the banner next to the Welcome Point
- Clicking the button in the email you’ll receive one day before pick-up
Once activated, our team will know you’re ready, and they’ll come to you for the document check. If you haven’t completed your Online Check-in yet, you’ll be prompted to finish it first.
3. At the Welcome Point
4. Final Checks: Meet Your Travel Companion
Your RV tutorial has given you a solid overview — now it’s time to get hands-on! During the Final Checks, you’ll walk through the most important features of your roadsurfer and make sure you’re all set for the road ahead. These checks replace an in-person briefing, but don’t worry — they’re designed to be quick, easy, and thorough.
- Test out the key functions so you know how everything works.
- Mark anything you’re unsure about — the team is there to help.
- Confirm that all included and booked extras are in the RV and stored correctly.
Before you go, you’ll do a final damage check together with our staff:
- Return to the Welcome Point — a team member will review any existing damage with you.
- If you spot anything new, let us know so we can assess and document it.
- Not sure? Snap photos or take a short video to note the RV’s condition at handover.
- Important: It’s not possible to report damage after you’ve left the station.
5. Sign the Rental Agreement and Hit the Road
- Don’t leave the lot without signing your rental agreement — it’s required before you drive off.
- Once signed, you’ll get an email with your rental contract and any recorded damages.
- The breakdown assistance section will then appear in your customer account. Be sure to note the roadside number if you’re heading somewhere with limited internet.
- You can always access your customer account during your trip.
-
There, you can:
- extend your rental
- change your return date
- check the status of your deposit
- look up anything in the Camper Tutorial or watch how-to videos anytime
- Need help while driving? Just scan the QR code on the glove box — it links you straight to support.
