When you pick up your camper van or Class B RV rental in Madrid, you’ll likely want to explore the city before you set off on your road trip. You can park in the paid parking blue and green zones, or you can also park in covered parking but be careful with the height!

If you want to drive into the city center, it’s best to park off the M30 and then take public transit to the center of Madrid. This way, you are more likely to find a free parking space, and it will also be less stressful. You’ll find car parks in Marqués de Vadillo and south of the Manzanares. You can also park your motorhome at the Almendrales metro station in Usera.

In the busiest areas such as hospitals, cinemas, or shopping centers, there are often people who will help you park in exchange for a small fee. You can decide on your own if you want to pay them or not, but our advice is to give them a little.

You don’t have to register a toll system for your roadsurfer vehicle when you drive in Spain, and you can decide whether to use a toll-free motorway or a (private) toll road.

The private roads are marked with an “R” or “AP” and a toll sign on the traffic signs. Toll roads can be paid at the toll booth by credit card or cash.
