Getting to the station
From the Ciampino Airport (CIA): From the airport, take bus “Velletri – Roma Anagnina” to “ROMA | Anagnina (Metro A)”. Change to bus “Roma Anagnina – Genazzano” to “MONTE COMPATRI | Via Casilina via dei Lavoratori”. From here, it’s a five-minute walk to the roadsurfer station.
From the Fiumicino Airport (FCO): From the airport, board the train to “Roma Termini” and follow the directions below.
From Roma Termini Train Station: From the station, take metro train A toward “Anagnina” to “San Giovanni”. Change to metro C toward “Pantano” to “Grotte Celoni”. Change to bus “Roma-Anagnina – Genazzano” to “MONTE COMPATRI – Via Casilina via dei Lavoratori”. From here, it’s a five-minute walk to the roadsurfer station.
Parking information
Parking is available near the roadsurfer station at the metro station on Via Casilina, referred to as “Metro C Pantano.” You can reach the station within 20 minutes on foot, or if you prefer, take a quick 5-minute bus ride with bus f14648.

Best Time of Year to Visit Rome
The best time to rent a RV or camper van in Rome is Spring and Autumn. In April and May, you’ll find fresh mornings and blooming flowers. In September and October, the city comes back to life after the summer heat, whilst remaining warm in the evenings. The city is hot and busy in Summer. Winter sees colder weather and more rain, although you’ll find cheaper prices from November to March as well as fewer crowds.

You’ll need to fill up the freshwater tank at the beginning of your trip, and empty your grey water at the end. This can be done at a campground, but if you need a dedicated area. here’s the closest one to our rental station:

Parking in Rome
The city center of Rome is mainly composed of ZTL zones where access is limited and you can be fined. To visit the city center, we recommend the LGP Via Casilina campground where you can also stay overnight for €25.
