Best time of year to visit Bristol

For the optimal experience, rent a camper van in Bristol during the spring and summer months (May to September). With temperatures warming up and the days growing longer, you’ll find Bristol at its most lively and picturesque. These months offer the perfect weather for exploring and are when many of Bristol’s festivals happen. Fall, too, (mid-September to mid-December) can be a delightful time to visit, as the city’s parks and green spaces transform into a sea of red and gold.

Filling and emptying water tanks in Bristol

When you rent a motorhome in Bristol, we ask you to fill up your fresh water when you set off and empty your waste water at the end of your trip. There are few places to do this other than campsites, unlike in America and mainland Europe, meaning that the most stress-free way to do this is to begin and end your adventure at a campsite with these facilities. Some campsites allow you to use their facilities for a small fee if not staying there. This map when filtered for ‘Aires with disposal services’ shows available waste disposal sites – you can see how rare they are in the United Kingdom, so a campground with these facilities is ideal.
