Getting to the station

From Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE): From the airport, take a bus line (10, 25, or 35) this will take you to the main train station. From there please continue with the directions described below.

From Venice Train Station (Venezia Mestre): Take bus line 18 and get off at the bus stop Ca’ Sabbioni Marcuzzo – from there it is only a short walk (about 20 min) to our location. Alternatively, you can also take a train from Venezia Mestre station to the Stazione Porta Ovest station, from there it’s just a 5-minute walk to our location.

Parking information

Free parking is available at the “Porta Ovest” train station, which is a 3-minute walk from the roadsurfer station.

Camping Equipment Included

Our roadsurfer RVs and camper vans come fully equipped for your Venice road trip, so you can travel with comfort and peace of mind. Every vehicle includes built-in navigation, a spacious bed for restful nights, and a fully stocked kitchen box with pots, pans, tableware, mugs, and a French press for your morning coffee—making it easy to prepare your favorite meals on the go. You’ll also have an outdoor table and camping chairs, perfect for enjoying meals at beautiful camping spots. All you need to bring is a comforter or sleeping bag and your sense of adventure. Visa & Travel Requirements

U.S. citizens do not need a visa for short tourist visits to Italy. Here’s what you should know before your trip:

  • Americans can visit Italy and other Schengen Area countries for up to 90 days within a 180-day period without a visa.
  • You must have a valid U.S. passport; it’s recommended that your passport is valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area.
  • Border officials may ask for proof of onward travel or a return ticket, confirmation of accommodation, and evidence of sufficient funds for your stay.
  • Italy is part of the Schengen Area, allowing easy travel between member countries during your stay.
  • Starting in 2025, Americans will need ETIAS approval to enter Italy and other Schengen countries. Be sure to apply online before your trip once ETIAS is in effect.

Water Tank Info

Before you can use the sink and shower in your camper van or RV rental, you’ll need to fill up the fresh water tank. Please also empty the grey water tank before you return your camper to us. You can do this near our roadsurfer station at the following campgrounds:

If you’re using the campground facilities but not camping overnight, please remember to respect your fellow campers who are staying there.

Best Time to Visit Venice

The best time to visit Venice is in April and May, as well as September, October, and November, when there are smaller crowds, but temperatures are still a pleasant 64°-74°F. If you want to visit the city, it’s a good idea to stroll through the streets early in the morning or late in the evening when the streets are a bit quieter.

With temperatures around 77°-86°F, the summer months from June to August are also well suited for camper van road trips in and around Venice. Especially if you are planning on extending your road trip along the Adriatic Sea. But be aware, it’s also the busiest time of year for the popular tourist destination.
