Our Los Angeles RV rental station is conveniently located just a 10 to 15-minute taxi journey from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). For those arriving at the airport, we recommend using Lyft or Uber services. If you’re driving to our station, we are conveniently situated just off the 405 freeway that runs along the western edge of Los Angeles. Please note that we do not provide parking facilities at our rental station, so we recommend using the long-term parking options available at the airport. While public transportation may not be as efficient as in some other major cities, it is possible to reach our Los Angeles station using public transit, although it may take up to an hour with up to 2 transfers.

Getting to the station
From LAX Airport: The public transportation in Los Angeles has improved in recent years, but it is still not as extensive or convenient as in some other major cities. From the airport, we recommend to take a Lyft or Uber to the roadsurfer station (10-15 minute drive).
We do not provide parking facilities at the L.A. roadsurfer station, so we recommend using the long-term parking options available at the LAX airport.
Please note that while roadsurfer RVs come with solar panels, the batteries are not equipped to last for prolonged periods without connecting to shore power. When using the AC, the battery can die in less than a day, causing a shutdown of all electrical componentry in the vehicle. Please take this into consideration when selecting your campsites and their amenities.
Free 2nd driver included
Rebook or cancel with the Flex option up to 48 hours before departure
Free camping equipment and kitchen utensils included

Whether you’re embarking on a trip from L.A to San Francisco or a longer multi-state road trip, roadsurfer in Los Angeles has got you covered. Take a look at these useful tips for your Los Angeles RV rental:
When you hire a campervan in Los Angeles you can be on the road right away, trusting that your roadsurfer home on wheels is fully stocked. Your campervan comes with an awning, camping table and two chairs to enjoy the space outside of your vehicle. The kitchen box allows you to save money on eating out: you’ve got all the pots, pans, and utensils to cook up your own meals. There’s even a corkscrew and bottle opener, and a cafetière plus mugs for your morning coffee or tea, although you’ll want to bring dish towels, sponges, and eco-friendly dish soap. When you rent a small motorhome from Los Angeles you will need to bring your own bedding, or you can hire what you need from the station. Full details of what’s included and our suggestions on what to bring along to your Los Angeles campervan holiday can be found in the equipment list.
Please ensure that you have the necessary visa before travelling. The following guide applies to all UK and EU citizens, including those from Ireland, Norway, Switzerland, and Croatia:
You can enjoy a visit to Los Angeles throughout the year, as the weather remains relatively pleasant. Summers can be quite hot, particularly if you’re camping away from the Pacific coast. During this time, it’s perfect for a relaxing beachside getaway for couples or an exhilarating surfing adventure with a close friend. However, please note that due to the extreme heat experienced inland during the summer, roadsurfer RV rentals are not allowed in Death Valley, except in the winter months. Winters in LA are generally mild, but mountainous areas like the stunning Sierra Nevadas, where Yosemite National Park is located, can get significantly colder. Therefore, plan your road trip accordingly and be prepared for colder temperatures (and snow) in those regions. Spring and autumn are the ideal seasons to visit as the temperatures are pleasant, and the national parks are less crowded. If you’re planning a longer road trip to other states, ensure that you check their current requirements, such as the need for snow chains, as they are not provided.
When setting off on your journey, locating water fill-up stations for your RV within the city of Los Angeles can be challenging. Once you are beyond the city limit, it will be much easier finding such stations. When returning your RV rental, you must empty your waste and grey water. The nearest service station is a short 15-minute drive away, where you can dispose of your grey water tank. Please note that this station has limited operating hours, typically open for only 2-3 hours per day.
Due to the limited operating hours, we recommend staying in a campsite that provides those facilities before finishing your road trip.
When you hire an RV in Los Angeles, you’ll need to return it with a full tank of fuel and Adblue. The closest places to our Los Angeles station to fill up are the Mobil petrol station on Rosecrans Ave if you’re driving from the south, or the 76 petrol station on W El Segundo Blvd if you are driving from the north.
There is street parking available, but with regular street sweeping on Mondays and Tuesdays, it’s not the best option and not the safest. If you are looking to park your vehicle while you are on your roadsurfer RV adventure, you can find many long-term parking options at the Los Angeles International Airport, which is just a 15-minute taxi journey from our Los Angeles station.
Make sure to stock up on any last-minute essentials before hitting the road. If you are looking for groceries, there are several Ralphs supermarkets located within a 5 to 10-minute drive of the Los Angeles station. You can also find several Trader Joe’s around the greater Los Angeles area. For other general supplies, Walmart and Target are just down the road. It should be easy to find whatever you need around Los Angeles.
If you are in need of a bit of caffeine and food after your long travel journey before setting out on your roadsurfer adventure, there is a delicious French bakery and café called Le Pain Du Jour Bakery across the street from the Los Angeles station. It’s a great place to pick up some croissants and coffee to enjoy right away or take with you on the road.
There are plenty of campsite possibilities near Los Angeles once you get just outside the city. If you plan on driving along the Pacific Coast Highway, you can escape the big city by staying at Malibu Creek Campsite in Malibu Creek State Park, or staying within walking distance of the beach at Leo Carrillo State Park Campground. If you prefer to go hiking on trails like the Pacific Crest Trail, you can try Buckhorn Campground, or Manker Flats Campground, in Angeles National Forest. If a Disneyland visit is more your style, check out Anaheim Harbor RV Park. There are so many campsites to choose from but here are a few more we recommend:
Please be aware that campsites in and around Los Angeles, as well as throughout California, can become fully booked during the peak seasons. To secure your desired campsite, we highly recommend making reservations up to 6 months in advance. This will ensure that you have the best chances of securing a spot for your road trip adventure.
California offers something special for every type of traveler, and with roadsurfer as your “home on wheels,” you’ll be transported to your dream destinations:
