The best time to visit Bordeaux and the South West of France is from mid-May to October. Being in the heart of one of the world’s most prestigious wine regions, September and October are particularly good for visiting the vineyards and tasting the delicious wines. And, although this might not be the first thing to come to your mind when you think of Bordeaux, there is a year-round surfing hot spot on the Cote d’Argent. There are also many summer events, such as the Fête du Vin and the Fête de la Mer, and one of the most popular festive gatherings in the region, the Fêtes de Bayonne at the end of July. We advise you to avoid the low season due to the heavy rainfall.
