Getting to the station
From Rotterdam Airport (RTM): From the airport, take Bus 33 towards Rotterdam Centraal and get off at the “Rotterdam, Blijdorp Metro” stop. Walk to “Blijdorp Metro” Station and board Metro E towards “Slinge”, then transfer at “Zuidplein” to Metro D heading towards “De Akkers”. After a 20-minute ride, exit at “Poortugaal” station and from there it is only a 5 minute walk to our location.
Alternatively, you can also opt for a 20-minute taxi ride.
From Rotterdam Centraal Station: From the station, take Metro D in the direction of “De Akkers”. Get off at “Poortugaal” station and walk approximately 5 minutes to reach our location.

Visa & Travel Requirements
U.S. citizens do not need a visa for short tourist visits to the Netherlands. Here’s what you should know before your trip:
- Americans can visit the Netherlands and other Schengen Area countries for up to 90 days within a 180-day period without a visa.
- You must have a valid U.S. passport. It’s recommended that your passport is valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area.
- Border officials may ask for proof of onward travel or a return ticket, confirmation of accommodation, and evidence of sufficient funds for your stay.
- The Netherlands is part of the Schengen Area, allowing seamless travel between member countries during your visit.
- Starting in 2025, Americans will need ETIAS approval to enter the Netherlands and other Schengen countries. Be sure to apply online before your trip once ETIAS is in effect.

Water Tank Info
You’ll want to fill up the fresh water tank of your camper van or RV rental at the beginning of your trip, and empty your grey water at the end. The best place to do this is at your campground if they offer these services, or at certain gas stations. Near our station you can also find this address to fill up the freshwater tank:

Best Time to Visit Rotterdam
If you want good weather, the best time to rent a camper van in Rotterdam is from May to September. Rotterdam doesn’t get as busy as other cities in the summer, so you can enjoy the sights and sunshine without worrying about the crowds. If you don’t mind the cold, you can check out the International Film Festival that takes place from the end of January until the beginning of February.
