  • Border officials may ask for proof of onward travel or a return ticket, confirmation of accommodation, and evidence of sufficient funds for your stay.
  • Italy is part of the Schengen Area, allowing easy travel between member countries during your stay.
  • Starting in 2025, Americans will need ETIAS approval to enter Italy and other Schengen countries. Be sure to apply online before your trip once ETIAS is in effect.

Make sure to take your valuables with you and ensure that no items are left on display in your vehicle.

Best Time to Visit Turin

Turin is a wonderful year-round travel destination, so you can visit when it suits you best. If you rent a camper van or RV in Turin in the spring, you’ll see the city come to life with flowers and birds and festivals, like the Jazz Festival in March, and the Fringe Festival in May.

Summer brings sweltering weather, so if you love to explore in the summer heat, this is your time! But keep in mind that many locals shut their businesses and leave town in August. In the fall, the hot weather is milder, and the summer crowds are gone. October and November are the perfect time to sample fresh local food like mushrooms and truffles, and to catch the Torino Film Festival at the end of November. In the winter, you’ll have views of snow-capped mountains, and the Christmas decorations and markets in December are delightful.

It’s easy to find an amazing camping spot for your camper van rental near Turin. There’s a camping spot for every kind of traveler—just waiting to be discovered.
