Enjoy a seamless driving experience with built-in navigation, relax and unwind on a big and comfortable bed, and make use of a fully stocked kitchen box that includes a pot and pan, tableware, glasses, utensils, mugs, and a French press for your coffee, allowing you to prepare your favorite meals. Additionally, we provide an outdoor table and camping chairs so you can enjoy your time outside. The only thing you need to bring is a comforter or sleeping bag and your sense of adventure. The best time to rent a camper van in Milan depends on your interests. For those wanting to do outdoor activities, April to July and September to October have pleasant weather. If you’re a fashion lover then the fashion weeks in February and September are the ideal time to go, although the city does get quite crowded. The winter is the best time to escape the crowds at museums and historical sites, and the Christmas markets are magical. We suggest avoiding August, as many locals go on vacation during this time, and many local businesses and attractions are closed.
When you rent a camper van or RV in Milan, you’ll need to fill up with fresh water at the beginning of your journey and empty the black water at the end. The closest place to the roadsurfer station is just over 6 miles from our station at the Carico & Scarico Camper Parking Facilities (21047 Saronno, Province of Varese, MI), just after the Saronno Sud Station. Alternatively, you can try at Esso gas station off the E62 (A8, Villoresi Ovest, 20020 Lainate MI), just a 20-minute drive south.
Before you return your roadsurfer camper van, you can refill with diesel and AdBlue at one of these convenient gas stations near our location here:

To visit the city, we recommend parking at Lampugnano parking lot, which is only 20 minutes away from the roadsurfer station. From here, you can take the Metro Line 1 to the center of Milan.
In Milan, as in other cities in Italy, there are ZTL zones, where most vehicles are not allowed to enter and are subject to taxes or fines. If you use these streets when not permitted, you’ll need a Zone C ticket.
If you do need to drive into the city, pay attention to the signs. There are different parking areas in Milan: white (free), blue (paying), and yellow (reserved for residents only).
If you need to buy food and essentials for your camper van adventure from Milan, here are our recommendations:
Italy is well known for its espresso, so why not get one before you set off on your road trip? Head to Pertugia Café (Corso della Vittoria, 406, 21042 Caronno Pertusella VA) for a coffee. If it’s a meal you’re after, dry Donna Pe (Corso della Vittoria, 1534, 21042 Caronna Pertusella VA).
Camping in Milan is difficult but there are campgrounds not far from the city center where you can leave your camper van or Class C RV and travel to the city by public transportation. Use roadsurfer spots to find a unique camping spot nearby. From premium vacation parks next to the water to romantic spots in a vineyard, you’ll find the perfect private campsite for your road trip adventure!
