Inside, you’ll find two dedicated sleeping areas—one rear bed for two adults and a roof bed above the dinette for two children or one small adult. Are there different models of the Family Finca?
Yes. Depending on availability, your Family Finca rental may be either a MAN Knaus Boxdrive 600XL or a VW Grand California. Both are Sprinter-style RVs with similar features, but some key differences:
- Knaus Boxdrive 600XL: Cozy, residential interior with wood accents and a convertible bathroom using magnetic panels and a foldaway sink. Larger beds.
- VW Grand California: Slightly more compact beds, but full access to VW’s national service network for peace of mind on long trips.

What is the maximum payload for the Family Finca?
The Family Finca has a maximum payload of 660 lbs (300 kg). This already includes:
- A full tank of fuel
- roadsurfer’s standard camping equipment
- One driver weighing 165 lbs
That leaves you 660 lbs for passengers, luggage, camping gear, and water tanks.
Tip: Try to avoid driving with a full water tank—it helps reduce fuel use and ensures you stay under the legal weight limit.
