What are the differences between the manufacturers of the Road House?
At roadsurfer we have five different Road House rental models available: Knaus Boxlife 540, Hymer Ayers Rock, Weinsberg CaraTour 540, Bürstner Eliseo and Campeo.
The basic layout is the same for all the models, and each offers well-thought-out details and high-quality equipment. However, there are a few minor differences between the variants.
The Knaus, Hymer and Weinsberg Road House sprinter-type campervans for hire come with a roof tent that can be opened on three sides for panoramic views of your surroundings. The two Bürstner Road House models meanwhile come with a roof tent, but it doesn’t feature the panoramic function.
The bed system also varies slightly between models. The Knaus Boxlife 540 features a drop-down bed, enabling quick access to the boot, while the Hymer Ayers Rock features a slatted frame with additional storage under the centre section. The Weinsberg CaraTour 540 and the two Bürstner models feature folding slatted frames.
Another key difference between the models is the available heating systems. The Knaus and Hymer models are well-equipped for longer winter journeys as they come with a diesel heater. The Weinsberg CaraTour 540 and the Bürstner Eliseo and Campeo camper vans come with gas heating, which is generally quieter and gives off more heat.
The good news is that despite these slight differences, you can be sure that when you hire the Road House sprinter-type campervan, you’re all set to enjoy flexible adventures
What is the maximum payload of the Road House?
The Road House has a maximum payload of 480kg. This already takes into account:
- A full fuel tank
- Our basic camping equipment
- A driver with a weight of 75kg
This leaves you with 480kg for passengers, luggage, your own camping equipment and a fresh and waste water tank.
Top tip: Avoid driving with a full water tank to reduce the risk of exceeding the maximum payload and increasing your fuel consumption. Find out more about calculating the total payload of a vehicle.
