Plan your road trip from the “Pink City” and discover the culture and beauty of the Occitanie and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. The historical, charming sights of Toulouse, delicious local cuisine, and mild Mediterranean climate make it the dream travel destination. Here are our tips to help you prepare for your camping holiday with your campervan rental.
When you hire a campervan in Toulouse you can be on the road right away, trusting that your roadsurfer home on wheels is fully stocked. Your campervan comes with an awning, camping table and two chairs to enjoy the space outside of your vehicle. The kitchen box allows you to save money on eating out: you’ve got all the pots, pans, and utensils to cook up your own meals. There’s even a corkscrew and bottle opener, and a coffee pot, plus mugs for your morning coffee or tea, although you’ll want to bring dish towels, sponges, and eco-friendly dish soap. When you rent a small motorhome from Toulouse you will need to bring your own bedding, or you can hire what you need from the roadsurfer station. Full details of what’s included in your motorhome hire, and our suggestions on what to bring along to your Toulouse campervan holiday can be found in the equipment list.
Toulouse is a brilliant travel destination because you can visit in all seasons, although July and August are the hottest months. September and October are a particularly beautiful time to hire a campervan in Toulouse when autumn gives the pink city and its Garonne river a magical charm! May and June is also a good time to visit and taste a local cassoulet in the Place du Capitole or see a good rugby match at the Ernest Wallon stadium. If you love nature, you will find the incredible Pyrenees mountains nearby with plenty of superb hikes to offer!
When you need to fill up with fresh water or dispose of grey water, you can visit the following motorhome service station near our location, which is a 20-minute drive.
Before returning your motorhome or campervan rental, you can stop to fill up with diesel and AdBlue at this local petrol station:

You’re most likely going to find a parking space in Toulouse on the road. Parking is charged from Monday to Saturday between 9 am and 7 pm, except on Sundays, public holidays and between 1st – 15th August.
You may have to be patient, but this is one of the best solutions, as most of the car parks in the city centre are limited to vehicles with a height of no more than 1 metre 80. There are exceptions like the “Saint-Cyprien / Roguet” car park, which has access for vehicles up to 2 metres.
If you want to explore Toulouse, we recommend hiring a compact campervan to get around the winding streets of the Pink City. Another possibility is to leave your motorhome at the urban campsite “Le Rupé” and start your day of sightseeing from there.
Find and book a unique camping experience with the roadsurfer spots App. Book a private pitch in the middle of nature with breathtaking view of the Pyrenees, cruise the country roads as you head towards your camping spot in a vineyard, or enjoy quiet and peaceful spots along the coast, all at very reasonable prices and with amenities to suit your camping needs. Our top tip: There is a motorhome camping spot right next to the Cité de l’Espace.
