If you’re still unsure where to begin, check out our tips below for more information on campervan hire in Nice, and start planning your holiday with peace of mind.

Campervans: Equipped and ready for adventure

When you hire a campervan in Nice you can be on the road right away, trusting that your roadsurfer home on wheels is fully stocked. Your campervan comes with an awning, camping table and two chairs to enjoy the space outside of your vehicle. The kitchen box allows you to save money on eating out: you’ve got all the pots, pans, and utensils to cook up your own meals. There’s even a corkscrew and bottle opener, and a coffee pot, plus mugs for your morning coffee or tea, although you’ll want to bring dish towels, sponges, and eco-friendly dish soap. When you rent a small motorhome from Nice you will need to bring your own bedding, or you can hire what you need from the roadsurfer station. Full details of what’s included in your motorhome hire, and our suggestions on what to bring along to your Nice campervan holiday can be found in the equipment list.

Best time to hire a campervan in Nice

Due to its Mediterranean climate, Nice is an ideal location to hire a campervan, offering pleasant temperatures throughout the year. The optimal weather occurs between May and October. To avoid the peak season and the crowds, we suggest considering May/June or September/October. During these times, you can enjoy almost summer-like temperatures in a more tranquil atmosphere. To witness the lavender fields in full bloom, plan your visit for June and July. If you happen to be in Nice in February, be sure not to miss the Nice Carnival, one of the world’s top four carnivals, featuring a lively parade and the renowned Battle of Flowers.

Water tank services near Nice

You’ll want to fill up the fresh water tank of your campervan or motorhome rental at the beginning of your trip. The best place to do this is at your campsite if they offer these services, or at certain petrol stations. You can also use a motorhome service for this.

Petrol stations near our Nice location

Before you return your campervan rental, you will need to refill the tank with diesel and AdBlue at a petrol station. We recommend the following location:

  • Total Petrol Station Access – 10-14 avenue de le Tourre, 06510 Gattières

Please note: The AdBlue service station information provided is for guidance only and is provided without warranty of any kind; customers are advised to check the information for accuracy on their own responsibility, as roadsurfer assumes no liability for the accuracy or timeliness of the information.

Parking in Nice

Nice is a beautiful city, but like any major city, finding parking, especially for a large vehicle, can be challenging. One option is securing a paid parking spot in the city centre, but it’s crucial to pay attention to the maximum height restrictions, as many spaces are limited to 2 meters. A convenient car park is located at the Port Lympia car park (Quai Lunel, 06300 Nice), accommodating vehicles up to 2.1 meters.

Alternatively, street parking is available, subject to charges from Monday to Saturday, between 9:00 am and 8:00 pm, with a maximum limit of 2 hours on weekdays and 3 hours on Saturdays. To avoid the stress of navigating the city centre, consider parking at a park-and-ride facility outside Nice and using public transport to reach the city centre. Keep in mind that these facilities are free of charge but reserved for public transport users, so be prepared to show a ticket when exiting the car park.
