Best time of year to visit Las Vegas

If you’re booking an RV rental in Las Vegas, consider aligning your trip with some of the city’s major events.

Experience the high-octane thrill of NASCAR Weekend (March) or dance up a storm at the Las Vegas Electric Daisy Carnival (May). If you plan on coming later in the year, you can saddle up and watch the National Finals Rodeo (December), which attracts the world’s top cowboys and cowgirls.

Just keep in mind that summers can be extremely hot (often reaching 110°F or higher). The shoulder seasons of spring and fall, on the other hand, offer more moderate temperatures for outdoor activities.

Parking in Las Vegas

Renting a motorhome in Las Vegas is all fun and games… until you need to park in the city. Fortunately, you can find relatively cheap open-air parking with no height restrictions at various casinos.

The Plaza Hotel and Casino, for example, has an oversized parking area for both hotel and non-hotel guests. There’s also super convenient RV parking at Circus Circus, which is the only RV park on the Strip. As for parking outside of the city, all National and State Parks offer RV parking for multiple days. Just remember that in peak season, parking at various natural landmarks can fill up quickly, so make sure to arrive early.

Campgrounds near Las Vegas

Camping in and around Las Vegas is a remarkable experience. Just beyond the city’s vibrant lights, you’ll find a host of RV-friendly campgrounds surrounded by natural beauty.

The Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers diverse landscapes and lakeside camping spots. Valley of Fire State Park, renowned for its red sandstone formations, accommodates RVs at Atlatl Rock and Arch Rock campgrounds.

Our pick of the bunch for anyone renting a camper van in Las Vegas to explore the Grand Canyon is Mather campground. Not only does it offer lots of privacy (despite being quite popular), but it’s also close to hiking trails, such as the scenic Rim Trail, as well as shuttle bus services to various lookout spots that offer sweeping views over this majestic natural wonder.
