Best time of year to visit Seville

The best time to rent a camper van in Seville and explore Andalusia depends on the type of vacation you want. If you like plenty of action and don’t mind crowds, spring is a great time to visit, especially during the Feria de Abril. If you are planning on visiting the city of Seville before you set off on your road trip, we recommend fall, as the weather is still lovely and warm, the summer crowds are gone, and prices are lower than during the summer season.

Parking in Seville

If you’re willing to pay for parking, you can usually find a parking space. The cheapest paid parking is in the blue zones, which can be found throughout the city. Insider tip: The further away you are from the city center, the easier it will be to find a parking space. We recommend mobile Apps to find free parking spaces and even to extend your stay in the blue zone. In Seville, the blue zone is regulated by AUSSA, which also has a smartphone App.

You can also consider underground parking garages, such as Parking Saba, but it is important to check the maximum height to make sure the vehicle will fit. The VW California Surfer Suite will be easiest to find parking for, but with our larger campers, you may have difficulties.

In Seville, as in many other Spanish cities, there are “parking gorillas” who will help you find a free parking space and ask you for a small fee in return. You don’t have to give them anything, as they won’t be watching your vehicle, but we advise you pay a small amount to prevent them from damaging your vehicle.

Paying Tolls in Spain

You don’t have to register a toll system for your roadsurfer camper van when you drive in Spain, and you can decide whether to use a toll-free highway or a (private) toll road. The private ones are marked with an “R” or “AP” and a toll sign on traffic signs. Toll roads can be paid at the toll booth by card or cash. Please pay attention and do not drive through the “Telepeaje” booths, as those are only for cars with a transponder installed. You can check which ones are toll roads and how much they cost here.
