Camper Van & RV Rentals in Marseille

At roadsurfer, we have loaded our camper vans and Class B RVs with all the equipment you need to make your trip in France easier! You don’t need to worry about heavy suitcases because we have all of your camping essentials covered. In your camper van you’ll find a camping table, two camping chairs, an awning, leveling wedges, cables to hook up to electrical hookups, a water canister to fill the water tank, safety equipment, and so much more. We even provide a kitchen box with everything you’ll need to cook and enjoy meals in your home on wheels. For those of you who want to pack lightly, you can add sheets and a comforter during the reservation process, or you can bring your own blanket or sleeping bag. Marseille can be visited all year round and offers a lot of opportunities in terms of weather depending on what type of journey you want to take. Choose between a hot summer to sunbathe and relax on the beach, or a mild and pleasant winter without too much rain. In general, the best time to visit the region is between April and November. Nevertheless, whether you are a fan of the Calanques or cultural visits such as the Mucem, Marseille will open its doors to you all year round and show you all of its beauty.

You need to fill up the fresh water tank at the beginning of your road trip and empty the grey water before returning your camper van to our Marseille station. To do this, visit the nearby Power Dot facilities:

Alternatively, there is a campground for RVs called Carro Aire Camping Car, located in the cozy harbor town of Carro, between Montpellier and Marseille. Every morning the fish market happens right next to the site, which you can visit before heading back. You can fill up the fresh water tank and empty the grey water tank at the campground, but you can only use the facilities if you pay the 24-hour fee.

Like all big cities, parking in the center is not the easiest thing to do. We recommend renting one of our compact camper vans to navigate the busy city streets, but you’ll still have to be patient as the streets are narrow and there are few available parking spaces. When you do find a spot, paid parking in the streets of Marseille is available between 9 am and 7 pm from Monday to Saturday, except on Sundays and public holidays.

If you want to park close to the city center in a monitored parking lot, the Indigo Vieux Port Museum paid parking area is a good option. You’ll find that Level 1 is accessible to vehicles up to almost 10 and a half feet. From there, you can stroll through the beautiful historical city of Marseilles.
