Start with the campervan in Seville

If you are in Seville to rent your campervan, don’t rush to the nearest beach, but make sure you plan a stroll through the city. In Seville you will not cease to be amazed, because the well-preserved medieval old town is huge. Very huge! Next to Venice one of the biggest old towns in Europe! Seville is definitely worth a stop, because there is one sight after the other and a lot to see and experience.

Sights in Seville that you should not miss

  1. Plaza de España: Impressive square in a park with a watercourse, large fountain, benches made of painted ceramic tiles and a magnificent pavilion. If you feel like it, you can take the “Barcas” to cruise with them round the Plaza de España.
  1. Giralda Bell Tower: With the so-called Orange Court, the tower is the only original remnant of the former mosque.
  1. Cathedral of Seville: On the remains of a mosque, the Cathedral of Seville was built after the conquest of Seville by the Spaniards. It is one of the largest churches in the world and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  1. Royal Palace Alcázar: Beautiful Moorish palace with magnificent salons, halls and gardens (similar to the Alhambra).
  1. Stroll through the Santa Cruz quarter: Santa Cruz is the former Jewish quarter and immediately the most picturesque in Seville. There are no cars driving through the narrow streets, because they would not fit through. During the day, as well as in the evening, you can enjoy yourself here.
  1. Paseo del Rio Guadalquivir: The promenade that separates the old town from the Triana quarter is especially popular at sunset.
  1. Tapas, Tapas, Tapas: Seville is considered the place of origin of Tapas. As everywhere in Spain, it is simply a matter of trying through the long menu of Tapas until you find your favourite ones.
  1. Trip to the Mercado de Triana: In the Triana working-class district on the other side of the river Guadalquivir you can move from one Tapas bar to another, especially in the evenings. Be sure to stop by the Triana market hall for vino and Tapas.
  1. Visit a flamenco show: The cradle of flamenco dancing lies in Seville. In the alleys of the old town you will find flyers or posters of flamenco performances everywhere.

Tips for road trips by camper from Seville

If you want to know what makes Andalusia so special, then you are in good hands in Seville. However, you shouldn’t miss out on other Andalusian cities such as Granada, Cordoba or Malaga! And because it gets really hot in the summer in southern Spain, fantastic beaches provide a welcome change. We give you a few tips for excursions around Seville and in Andalusia.

  1. Animal watching in Coto de Doñana: Many hiking trails lead you through the most famous national park of Andalusia. Rent a camper in Sevilla and explore the wildlife sanctuary “Doñana” in only 45 minutes. Binoculars should not be forgotten!
  1. Stroll through the white streets of Córdoba: With a camper you will be in Córdoba in only 1.5 hours! Also a parade city of Andalusia with Roman and Arab influence and the largest preserved mosque in Europe.
  1. Relax in the Sierra de Grazalema: Two hours drive south of Seville is the “Parque Natural de la Sierra de Grazalema”. This natural paradise promises colours of the extravagant and above all peace and quiet – ideal for hiking or cycling tours.
  1. Over a bridge to Ronda: Ronda is an impressive city on a mountain peak directly behind the Sierra de Grazalema National Park. From the bridge over the ravine you have a great view.
  1. Learn kitesurfing in Tarifa: Tarifa is THE spot for kitesurfers. On the Costa de la Luz there is not only wind guaranteed, but also lonely natural beaches surrounded by pine forests. Rent a camper in Seville and mingle with the kitesurfers!
  1. Count mosaics in the Alhambra in Granada: This beautiful Moorish palace is a real tourist magnet in Andalusia – after all, the Alhambra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here it is worth getting tickets in advance or simply exploring the beautiful student city of Granada.
  1. Sierra Nevada National Park: If you are already in this corner of Granada, it is worth an adventurous trip to the mountains of the Sierra Nevada. Also the famous “Pueblos blancos” (white villages) like Capileira, Bubión and Pampaneira in the Sierra Nevada are waiting for you.
  1. Sunbathing on the Costa del Sol: The “sun coast” with the capital Marbella has many long beaches to offer. However, if it’s too crowded for you here, you should go the beaches of the Costa de Luz or the Algarve in Portugal.
  1. From “Hola” to “Hello” in Gibraltar: Not only real Beatles fans want to go to Gibraltar because John Lennon and Yoko Ono got married here, but also many tourists who want to see the only monkeys living freely in Europe in the Upper Rock nature reserve.
  1. Discover lonely natural beaches in the Algarve: From Seville you can of course leave Spain and jet to Portugal to the beautiful Algarve. From Seville to the Portuguese surfing town of Sagres (and at the same time the most western end of Europe) it takes just 3 hours by camper.
